I bought it as a birthday present for my nephew that was turning 5 years old. At first I was a little worried that it might be too young for him...maybe this toy was better for his 3 year old brother? No! He loved it! So did his older brother! I think boys love trains no matter how old they are. They really had fun changing the tracks a round,and loved watching it lay the two tracks down and keep going. It was great watching them enjoy it so much! Our son is autistic and he was heartbroken when his old train broke. When I couldn't find his old one in stock anywhere near our home, I decided to splurge a little on this set since he started showing an interest in Mickey Mouse. I brought it home and was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was no assembly required. I just needed to install 4 AA batteries (which are not included) with a phillips head screw driver. I took the train and tracks right out of the box and it was ready to go! I like that the tracks are easy to snap together but not so easy that they fall apart as soon as the train goes over them. The train itself is the perfect size for my son's hands. I like that it is a little big. It is so darn cute!! It plays music and Mickey talks and sings which encourages my autistic son to mimic him (which is a plus!)... Read more |
